I see this site is still up.  Call it greiving, but since many of you knew my Dad, I thought I'd let you know that after about 10 years of Alzheimers, my Dad (Bud) is very close to the end :-(

All the Barker kids are home in Orinda, staying by his side and sharing laughter and tears.  I know some of you have lost parents and loved ones.  It's not easy... I just want to scream.  Alzheimers stole my Dad's life way too young.  He's 66, but was diagnosed with early-onset in his late 50's.

Sorry for posting bummer news... I just feel like people that knew him might want to know.

Take care.
-Jeff

I don't know if anyone is still checking this site but if you are I wanted to pass on some news. Sadly we have lost a great teacher of ours. Paul Yriberri passed away this last week from a heart attack. I don't have many details as I have heard of this through the grapevine. I will post details regarding the services as I get them or feel free to contact me directly at justbbrooke@aol.com and I will pass on what I know. He was a great man and grew to be a friend...he always remembered me whenever I saw him and continued to call me "deadbody" I hope some of you will attend. Brooke

Hello, So much fun, such a great experience..it was one 'blast from the past" after another. I really needed another 2 days to see everyone I thought of, after the event was over. Did anyone else lay in bed the next day and go"hey where was______, I wish I could of seen them". I wish everyone the best...and any more memories. Thank you to all of those who worked so hard to put this event together...it was fantastic! When I truly think about everyone from sleepy hollow to Miramonte and the impact you have all had on my life, I know I am truly blessed by God.

Just wanted to drop a quick note of thanks to all the folks that worked to pull together a great night. What a blast!! It was awesome to see everyone even if only for a short time. It was so much fun to listen and hear what everyone has been up to and where their lives have taken them. Thanks again to the committee and for those that made the time to join - looking forward to the next gathering, only hope I can find the horizontal hold knob so I can recall the entire evening in clear focus. Thanks to everyone who planned this event. It was a very positive experience to those who decided not to attend because of their own personnal experiences. I had a great time catching up with people and like many others have already said "Not enough time to talk to everyone." I'm only sorry we couldn't make the dinner, but we had a great time at the picnic. A side note to Mark G. We'll try to do the ice cream thing another time. I hope we all make an effort to keep in contact and look forward to seeing all of you again - Tia PS Ian- I'd like to get some copies of some pictures, including from the picnic.

Wow! What a trilogy of events - 3 days of talking, laughing and pulling all those great memories out again. Thank you to the reunion committee for setting a great standard for next time!! It's amazing how we could pick up where we left off 20 years ago (for some of us elementary buddies, almost 35 years ago)! I had a ball, just like high school, and wish there was more time to really catch up. Thanks Lauren R, Joy D and Sarah M for adding to a great vacation. Cheers to the next 5,10,20 years!!

.......the whole night was overwhelming, and I had a blast. It was great seeing everyone, and I regret not being able to talk to more people. In fact, I cannot even believe how many people I did not get to talk to. And I have not been that hungover from two nights of partying since I can remember. That last blurry hour at the Paragon was just that.......blurry. I wish we could all get together every year. Please keep in touch: EFried4225@aol.com. Thanks to all the organizers, as I sincerely do not know how you put it together.

Okay, the Reunion way over-delivered to my expectations! From the football game, to the Casa, to the Claremont to the picnic everything was great. My only regret was that I wasn't able to talk to all of you there: Peter E., Mark H., Amy D., Jody S., Betsey P., Carolyn D., Jeff K., and Shareen K. just to name a few who I saw 'across the room' but unfortunately couldn't get around to actually talk to. But those I did get a chance to talk to really helped me remember why I (mostly) had such a good time at MHS, OIS and Glorietta. PLEASE feel free for anyone to drop me an e-mail (ruhrig@princesscruises.com or ruhrig@dslextreme.com). I'd like to keep in touch better in the next 20 years than I have in the last 20! Many more thanks to Jenn, Chris, Libby, Paul, Kim, Robbie and the rest of the Reunion Committee for putting on a 1st class event. Cheers, Rob

What a great time. I had so much fun seeing all of you from the sensational Class of 86 and glad to see everyone with smiles and cheer. Very sad there wasn't more time to talk with each of you individually. My apologies to everyone I didn't get to even say hello to. There's no possible way I can post this note without saying that I miss my great friend Joe Daugherty. I think about you all the time. Thanks a lot to our organizers. You guys did an awesome job of putting together a classy event. All the best and if you'd ever like to say hello to me my email is keithsfbay@gmail.com Your friend, Keith

...for all of you that were offended about what I had said about Diane Macdonald, I will only say that it was complete nonsense. Not unlike my profile, which is completely absurd and could not be farther from the truth, I sought only to bring some humor to this site. And mostly for Diane, whom I have not seen forever, but love, and would never in fact say anything negative about, ever. Diane and I shared an equality back then, in that we never really took anything very seriously, and felt laughter was the key to being better people. So I apologize for my stealthness and being so absurd, but please know that it was essentially an inside joke.

Hi, a lot can happen in 20 years! Anyway life for me has been a little crazy. After Cal Poly I met my husband who grew up in Lafayette, got married and had two little boys. I know live in Santa Barbara. I have had my own challenges over the years. After running my first marathon in 2000 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After several surgeries and nine rounds of chemo I was feeling great! Finally all my hair grew back only to find out my cancer came back again in 2005! This time I didn't have to do chemo! just radiation. Thank god! So far I am doing great. Healthy, happy and feeling strong! I am looking forward to see you all in September! This should be a great time! A time to reflect, and smile! See you soon, Christine
